Telangana Government Cracks Down on Rythu Bandhu Beneficiaries
Hyderabad: The Telangana government is intensifying its scrutiny of beneficiaries of the Rythu Bandhu scheme, now known as Rythu Bharosa, who received financial assistance during the previous BRS administration despite converting their agricultural lands for non-agricultural purposes.
The government has initiated the process of issuing notices to those who improperly benefited from the scheme. Notably, Yadagiri Reddy, a resident of Pocharam village in Ghatkesar mandal, has been asked to repay ₹16 lakh received under Rythu Bandhu for his 33 acres of land, which has been repurposed for commercial ventures.
This action marks the state’s commitment to recovering funds disbursed under the scheme, targeting individuals who exploited non-agricultural land to obtain substantial financial benefits. The government’s efforts aim to ensure that the scheme serves its intended purpose and prevents misuse going forward.
