Andhra Pradesh Set to Roll Out Free RTC Rides for Women Program
In a significant move under Chandrababu Naidu’s ‘Super Six’ agenda, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced the implementation date for its hallmark initiative – free RTC rides for women. Following through on their pre-poll promises, the TDP+ government, led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has scheduled the commencement of this initiative for August 15th, coinciding with India’s Independence Day.
Finance Minister Anagani Satya Prasad confirmed the development, marking a swift execution of the program merely two months into the administration’s tenure. While neighboring states like Telangana and Karnataka have already implemented similar schemes, the announcement resolves earlier uncertainties regarding the timeline for its launch in Andhra Pradesh.
This initiative represents a pioneering step in Andhra Pradesh, aimed at enhancing accessibility and affordability of public transport for women across the state.
