Pakistan Forms Committee to Boycott Israeli Products Amid Rising Tensions

Islamabad – The government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has taken a decisive step towards boycotting products associated with Israel by establishing a new committee, in response to recent condemnations labeling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a ‘terrorist’ and Israel as a ‘terrorist entity.’

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s administration initiated discussions with the far-right political party Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) following their rally and sit-in near Islamabad, which demanded a ban on Israeli products in Pakistan. The rally concluded late Friday with an agreement between the government and the party, pledging increased humanitarian aid for Palestinians and efforts to identify businesses potentially supporting Israel’s military operations.

Rana Sanaullah, an advisor to PM Sharif, announced the formation of a committee tasked with identifying companies in Pakistan directly or indirectly contributing to Israel’s military actions.

“We have constituted a committee to scrutinize companies and products in Pakistan that may be supporting Israel or its forces engaged in actions deemed as war crimes against Palestinians,” Sanaullah stated.

The Pakistani government’s stance has been reinforced by widespread social media campaigns and public demonstrations expressing solidarity with Palestine, denouncing Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza, which have resulted in significant civilian casualties.

Sanaullah also called upon the international community and the global Muslim population to hold Netanyahu accountable for his actions and ensure justice.

Additionally, Pakistan has expressed readiness to host and provide medical treatment to injured Palestinians, affirming their commitment to humanitarian assistance.
