New Delhi: Centre Allocates Rs 26,000 Crore for Bihar Road Projects in Budget 2024-25
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a significant allocation of Rs 26,000 crore for various road projects in Bihar as part of the Budget 2024-25. The Union government plans to facilitate financial assistance through multilateral development agencies to support infrastructure development in the state.
Additionally, Sitharaman outlined initiatives to establish airports, medical colleges, and sports infrastructure in Bihar, emphasizing comprehensive development under the ‘Purvodaya’ plan, which aims to boost growth across Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh. The government will also prioritize the industrial corridor for enhancing economic opportunities in the eastern region.
Furthermore, the finance minister unveiled plans to provide e-vouchers directly to 1 lakh students annually, featuring a 3% interest subvention on loan amounts, as part of broader educational support initiatives.
