Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is set to officially launch the second phase of the crop loan waiver scheme today at the Assembly premises. The event will be attended by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao.
In this second phase, the state government will waive crop loans of up to Rs. 1.5 lakh, with the funds directly deposited into the beneficiaries’ loan accounts. This follows the first phase on July 19, during which loans up to Rs. 1 lakh were waived.
Challenges, including incorrect Aadhaar numbers and other technical issues, had previously hampered the distribution process. To address these issues, the government has streamlined the process to ensure direct deposit of funds for the second tranche. The complete loan waiver initiative is scheduled for completion by August 15 or the end of August.
