5th IMMAF Youth World Championships Kick Off in Abu Dhabi with Over 800 Young Athletes
Abu Dhabi: The 5th IMMAF Youth World Championships have officially commenced in Abu Dhabi, featuring over 800 young athletes from 45 countries. This prestigious event, organized by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF), is set to run from August 6 to August 10, 2024, showcasing talent in various age categories for competitors aged 12 to 17.
Hosted by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation for the third consecutive year, the championship will see strong participation from the UAE National Team, which ranked first among Arab teams and achieved fourth place in last year’s competition.
Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohammed Al Hashmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for his unwavering support of UAE sports. Al Hashmi highlighted that this support is pivotal to the event’s success and serves as a powerful motivation for aspiring athletes to excel.
He noted that Abu Dhabi’s role as the host of the World Youth Mixed Martial Arts Championship for the third year reflects the trust and confidence it has earned from the global sports community and international federations. This continued hosting underscores the UAE’s commitment to advancing sports and inspiring local talent to achieve international success.
