Breastfeeding Tips for IVF Mothers Shared by Hyderabad Specialist
Hyderabad: As World Breastfeeding Week concludes, Dr. Parinaz Parhar, a fertility specialist at Oasis Fertility, offered valuable advice for IVF mothers on effective breastfeeding. Addressing concerns about stress affecting milk production, Dr. Parhar explained that hormonal fluctuations influenced by emotional states can impact breastfeeding. IVF mothers, often burdened with anxiety about their baby’s health, may face challenges in initiating and maintaining breastfeeding.
She noted that stress—both emotional and physical—can complicate the process. Infertility issues, hormonal imbalances, and complications from C-sections can all contribute to heightened stress levels, potentially affecting breastfeeding success.
Dr. Parhar also dispelled myths about breastfeeding for IVF mothers, emphasizing that with proper counseling, these mothers can successfully breastfeed. While no specific nutritional requirements are unique to IVF mothers, a diet rich in green leafy vegetables can enhance milk production, and lactation consultants play a crucial role in providing support and guidance.
