Chiyaan Vikram Announces Sequel to ‘Thangalaan’ Following Film’s Success
Thangalaan, the latest release featuring Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role and directed by Pa Ranjith, has garnered attention at the box office. The film, which also stars Malavika Mohanan, was released on August 15 in Tamil and Telugu languages. While the film’s opening day performance has been decent, it has received mixed reviews from critics in Telugu.
During a recent media event celebrating the film’s success, Vikram confirmed that a sequel to Thangalaan is in the works. “Pa Ranjith asked me to mention here that because you all liked ‘Thangalaan’ so much, we have discussed, and we want to do part 2 very soon,” Vikram revealed.
The decision to move forward with a second part stems from the positive response and affection shown by audiences towards the film. Thangalaan is inspired by true events and explores the lives of mine workers in the Kolar Gold Fields in Karnataka, offering a compelling narrative set against a significant historical backdrop.
The film unit expressed their gratitude for the support received and excitedly anticipates the continuation of the story in the forthcoming sequel.
