Telangana Minorities Students Receive Rs 85 Lakh in Scholarships from SEED-HHF
Students from the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGMREIS) have been awarded a substantial financial boost, with SEED-HHF allocating Rs 85 lakhs in scholarships to support their pursuit of higher education. This funding is designated for students enrolling in prestigious graduate programs, including engineering, medicine, law, and chartered accountancy, specifically at institutions such as IITs, NITs, and BITS Pilani.
On Saturday, August 24, Syed Mazharuddin Hussaini of SEED-USA presented a cheque for this amount to Ayesha Mashrath Khanam, IAS, Secretary of TMRIES. The ceremony was held at the TMRIES head office in Anees ul Gurba Building, Nampally, and was attended by Srinivas, the academic head of TMRIES, and senior journalist Azil Hussain Pervez.
The scholarship will cover full fees on a first-come, first-served basis for students, many of whom hail from economically disadvantaged and rural backgrounds. To date, five students have secured spots in top engineering institutions, including IITs, while six others have been admitted to CA/CMA programs. Notably, the initiative’s inclusive nature is underscored by the fact that three of the eleven students are non-Muslims.
This program aims to alleviate the financial constraints faced by these students and support their educational ambitions, thereby contributing to their academic and professional success.
