Abu Dhabi: BAPS Hindu Temple Unveils ‘The Fairy Tale’ Immersive Show Celebrating Its Journey
The Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s first Hindu temple, has launched a groundbreaking immersive show titled The Fairy Tale. The show, which premiered on September 9, offers a captivating portrayal of the temple’s remarkable journey from its inception to its status as a ‘spiritual oasis of global harmony.’
The grand premiere of The Fairy Tale took place at the BAPS Hindu Temple and featured an elaborate presentation through visuals, lighting, and artistic displays. The show is set to open to the public from September 13, with tickets available for devotees interested in experiencing this unique event.
Pujya Brahmavihari Swami, Head of BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, expressed his pride in unveiling the show, highlighting its celebration of both the temple’s journey and the personal spiritual journeys of visitors. He remarked, “We are deeply honored to unveil The Fairy Tale, which not only celebrates the Mandir’s ‘incredible journey’ but also everyone’s ‘inner journey.’”
The inaugural event was attended by over 250 distinguished guests, including religious leaders and UAE government officials. Satish Kumar Sivan, Consul General of India in Dubai, praised the temple’s construction as a “true Fairy Tale,” noting that the tagline captures the essence of the mandir’s story as something both incredible and profoundly real.
Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development, who ceremonially inaugurated the show with Pujya Swami Brahmaviharidas, emphasized the show’s alignment with the values of tolerance and harmony, which are cherished in the UAE. He described the experience as “incredible, inspiring, and extraordinary.”
Yogesh Mehta, Vice-Chairman of BAPS Hindu Mandir, lauded The Fairy Tale as a “soothing, spiritual, and ahead-of-its-time” production, noting its groundbreaking visuals and artistic portrayal. He emphasized that the show offers both spiritual and educational content, making it a feast for both the eyes and hearts of its visitors.
The Fairy Tale has been developed by BAPS Hindu Mandir with support from VFS Global and will be managed and operated by Utsav Events. The immersive show is the result of over three months of creative work, including scripting, visualization, animation, and meticulous design by an in-house team of BAPS swamis and volunteers, alongside professional audio-visual experts. Utilizing 20 video projectors and cutting-edge surround sound technology, the show promises a state-of-the-art experience that highlights the temple’s remarkable journey and its impact on global spiritual harmony.
