Kejriwal Launches Scathing Attack on Centre at ‘Janta Ki Adalat’

New Delhi: Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal delivered a strong critique of the central government on Sunday during the ‘Janta Ki Adalat’ event at Jantar Mantar. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief emphasized his commitment to changing Indian politics, stating, “I resigned because I did not come to do corruption or to earn money. I came to change the politics of the country.”

Reflecting on his political journey, Kejriwal recalled the challenges faced during the Anna Hazare movement, asserting that it demonstrated elections could be won through honesty. He expressed vulnerability to the allegations of corruption against him, contrasting his sensitivity with the perceived indifference of other political leaders.

Kejriwal announced plans to vacate the Chief Minister’s bungalow soon, revealing his lack of personal property and sharing that he has received offers for housing from supporters. “After the Shradh period is over, at the beginning of Navratri, I will leave the house and come and stay at the house of one of you,” he stated.

Highlighting his administration’s achievements, he claimed to have provided free electricity, water, and healthcare, while elevating educational standards. He criticized the Centre for allegedly orchestrating a conspiracy to tarnish the reputations of himself and AAP leaders like Manish Sisodia, who have faced legal challenges.

“In a landscape where they govern 22 states and provide no free electricity or support for women, who is the true thief?” Kejriwal questioned, calling for public accountability. His comments were echoed by several AAP leaders, including Delhi CM Atishi, who also attended the rally.
