Rajasthan Reshuffles Bureaucracy: 58 IPS and 20 IAS Officers Transferred

Jaipur: In a significant bureaucratic overhaul, the Rajasthan government has transferred 58 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and 20 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, effective immediately. The state’s personnel department announced the reshuffle late on Sunday, reflecting a strategic shift in leadership roles across various departments.

Notably, Additional Director General (ADG) Govind Gupta, previously responsible for planning, modernization, and welfare, has been appointed as the new Director General for Jails. Meanwhile, ADG Anil Paliwal, who managed railway operations, will now head the technical services department focused on telecommunications and traffic.

ADG Ashok Rathore, previously overseeing vigilance, has been assigned to training, while ADG Malini Agrawal transitions to the role of ADG for civil rights and human trafficking.

The reshuffle also includes changes among several senior ranks, with eight ADGs and eight inspector generals receiving new postings. District Superintendents of Police (SPs) across multiple regions—including Alwar, Bhilwara, Jaipur Rural, Ajmer, and more—have also been reassigned to bolster local law enforcement leadership.

In the IAS cadre, significant transfers include Bhawani Singh Detha, now the principal secretary for Ayurveda, and Ambrish Kumar, appointed as secretary of the medical education department after being on standby for a posting. Urmila Rajoria moves from her role as Kota divisional commissioner to serve as secretary for the administrative reforms department, while Pratibha Singh will take charge as the new Jodhpur DC.

Additionally, several district collectors in Deeg, Rajsamand, Deedwana-Kuchaman, Sawai Madhopur, and Beawar have been changed, further indicating the government’s commitment to restructuring its administrative framework.

This comprehensive reshuffle aims to enhance governance and improve the efficiency of public administration across the state.
