Union Minister Giriraj Singh Criticizes Owaisi’s Remarks, Calls for Hindu Unity

New Delhi: Union Minister Giriraj Singh, on October 7, strongly condemned AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi for his recent comments targeting RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Singh accused Owaisi of having “anti-India sentiments in his DNA,” following Owaisi’s claims that Bhagwat and Modi pose a danger to various communities in India.

The controversy ignited after Bhagwat emphasized the importance of Hindu unity to ensure security and urged the elimination of differences based on language and caste. Owaisi’s response, made during a public meeting in Nizamabad, Telangana, labeled the BJP leaders as threats to Muslims, Hindus, Dalits, Adivasis, Sikhs, and Christians.

In defense of Bhagwat’s statements, Singh asserted, “Mohan Bhagwat has not said anything wrong. The real danger to India comes from people like Owaisi and his thinking.” He stressed the need for unity among Hindus, stating, “If they don’t unite, figures like Owaisi, Rahul Gandhi, and Lalu Yadav will divide and destroy the country.”

On another note, Singh voiced support for the BJP’s proposal to implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Jharkhand, citing concerns over Bangladeshi infiltration. He noted a decline in the tribal population in the Santhal region, which he attributed to the current government’s policies, claiming that this demographic shift poses a threat to the identity of indigenous tribes.

Echoing Singh’s sentiments, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the NRC in Jharkhand, asserting that it is essential to identify and expel illegal infiltrators. Chouhan accused Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s government of enabling illegal immigration for political gain, highlighting the significant drop in Jharkhand’s tribal population from 44 percent to below 28 percent under Soren’s rule.

Singh further advocated for a nationwide implementation of the NRC to “establish the true identity of Indians” and safeguard the country against illegal immigration threats.
