BJP Dismisses Congress’s Claims of Poll Slowdown as Defeat Excuses
New Delhi: The BJP responded to Congress’s concerns about the “unexplained slowdown” in the Haryana poll results on the Election Commission website, labeling it an attempt by the opposition party to excuse its anticipated defeat in the state elections.
BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi emphasized that the early vote counting trends indicate a “glorious, decisive, and historic” mandate for the ruling party in Haryana and projected strong results in Jammu and Kashmir as well.
In reaction to Congress’s communication to the Election Commission regarding the slowdown, Trivedi mocked the party, asserting that their complaints are unfounded and merely an excuse for their looming defeat. “Counting agents from Congress are present at the booths to observe the process,” he stated.
Trivedi also praised the democratic engagement seen in the Jammu and Kashmir elections, urging all political parties to commend Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the improved electoral environment in the region. He highlighted the significant change from previous years when even hoisting the national flag in Lal Chowk was a challenge.
As per the latest updates, the BJP has secured three seats and is leading in 45 in Haryana, while the Congress has won three and is leading in 37. In Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference has won six seats and is leading in 35, with the BJP winning nine and leading in 20.
