Nayab Singh Saini Unanimously Elected as BJP Legislature Party Leader in Haryana

Panchkula: Nayab Singh Saini has been unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party in Haryana, a decision made during a meeting on Wednesday that included Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav as central observers.

The proposal for Saini’s leadership was put forth by MLAs Krishan Kumar Bedi and Anil Vij, leading to the official announcement by Union Home Minister Shah. Saini, who previously succeeded Manohar Lal Khattar as the chief minister of Haryana in March, was the BJP’s chief ministerial candidate during the recent state assembly elections.

The BJP achieved a significant victory in the assembly polls held on October 8, securing 48 seats in the 90-member assembly, while the Congress party won 37 seats, allowing the BJP to claim a third consecutive term in office.

Saini’s oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, with notable attendees expected, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. This event marks a significant moment in Haryana’s political landscape as Saini takes on leadership within the state’s governing party.
