Hyderabad: Demand for Special Teams to Locate Missing 14-Year-Old Mehraj Fathima

Hyderabad: Amjed Ullah Khan, spokesperson for the Majis Bachao Tehreek (MBT), has called for the formation of special teams to locate 14-year-old Mehraj Fathima, who has been missing since July 1, 2024. With 115 days having passed since her disappearance, Khan expressed concern over the lack of progress made by local police in the case.

An FIR was filed at the Golconda police station on the day Fathima went missing, but there has been little headway since then. According to the report, Fathima is the eldest daughter of Samreen Begum and Syed Jafar, residents of Akberpura in Tolichowki.

Fathima, a Class X student at Government High School in Golconda, is described as 5.6 feet tall with a fair complexion. On the day of her disappearance, she was wearing a white top adorned with blue flowers and blue pants.

Samreen Begum reported to the police that she had gone to a hospital only to discover that Fathima was missing. The case has been filed under Section 137 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Golconda police station.

Khan’s demand for special investigative teams highlights the urgency of the situation and the need for a more focused effort to locate Mehraj Fathima. As the community rallies for her safe return, the hope remains that increased attention will lead to new developments in the case.
