PM Modi to Campaign in Jharkhand for NDA Candidates Ahead of Assembly Elections

Ranchi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Jharkhand on November 4 to rally support for NDA candidates ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, which will be conducted in two phases. During his visit, he will address public gatherings in Garhwa and Chaibasa districts.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will precede Modi’s visit with a trip to Jharkhand on November 3, where he plans to hold three election meetings in Dhalbhumgarh (East Singhbhum district), Barakatha (Hazaribagh district), and Simaria (Chatra district). This information was shared by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister and BJP’s election in-charge for Jharkhand.

Following Diwali, other BJP leaders and chief ministers from BJP-ruled states are expected to join the campaign efforts in Jharkhand. Chouhan announced that the BJP will soon release its detailed manifesto, outlining the party’s vision for comprehensive development in the state.

In his comments, Chouhan criticized the current Hemant Soren government, alleging that it has discontinued several women-empowerment schemes initiated by the previous BJP administration under Raghubar Das. He specifically mentioned a scheme allowing women to register property valued at up to Rs 50 lakh for a nominal fee of one rupee, which he claimed significantly enhanced women’s financial empowerment.

Chouhan also questioned the rationale behind the Soren government’s discontinuation of financial assistance for farmers with up to five acres of land and described the “Maiya Samman” scheme as an election-time tactic. He asserted that the people of Jharkhand are ready to vote out what he termed the “anti-people” administration.

The state elections will take place in two phases, on November 13 and November 20, with vote counting scheduled for November 23. BJP’s co-in-charge, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, expressed confidence that the party will secure an absolute majority in the elections.
