KTR Demands Apology from Congress President for “Fake Promises” in Telangana
Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has called on Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge to apologize to the people of Telangana for what he termed “fake promises” made through the party’s six guarantees.
KTR’s comments came in response to Kharge’s warning to the Karnataka government regarding the financial implications of these guarantees, suggesting that overspending could lead to bankruptcy and negatively affect future generations. In a post on X, KTR highlighted the dangers of “empty guarantees” and pointed to Karnataka’s recent decision to review one of its promises due to financial constraints.
The Sircilla MLA emphasized the decade of progress Telangana has experienced under the BRS, accusing Congress of jeopardizing this growth with unrealistic pledges aimed at regaining power. “The juggling act of Congress guarantees has brought Telangana to a standstill within a year,” he stated, asserting that the Congress’s approach could have long-lasting consequences on the state’s financial health.
KTR warned that the “damage caused by trusting the Congress’s guarantees is irreparable” and cautioned that this could impose a heavy burden on future generations in Telangana.
