Anushka Shetty Set for a Double Celebration: First Looks of Ghaati and Kathanar to Release on Her Birthday
After a relatively quiet period following her role in Bhaagamathi, Anushka Shetty is making a significant return to the screen with two highly anticipated films. Last year, she starred in Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, which enjoyed commercial success, but updates about her future projects had been sparse until recently.
Anushka has signed on for two films: Ghaati, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, and Kathanar—The Wild Sorcerer, helmed by Jayasurya. While details about Ghaati have been limited, reports suggest that the filmmakers are preparing to unveil the first-look poster on November 7, coinciding with Anushka’s birthday. An official announcement regarding this release is expected soon.
Ghaati revolves around the tumultuous journey of a woman who becomes embroiled in the drug trade due to unforeseen circumstances. The film is produced by UV Creations and First Frame Entertainments, marking Anushka’s second collaboration with director Krish after their earlier success with Vedam.
In addition, the makers of Kathanar are also planning to reveal Anushka’s first look on the same day. This film represents her debut in the Malayalam film industry. Notably, Kathanar has been filmed using advanced virtual production technology in a specially designed studio, and it is scheduled for release in 2025.
With both projects set to generate excitement among her fans, Anushka’s birthday this year promises to be a double celebration, marking her impactful return to cinema after a considerable hiatus.
