Vaibhav Suryavanshi: From IPL Millionaire to India U-19 Star
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who made headlines by becoming a millionaire at just 13 years old after being bought for ₹1.10 crore in the IPL mega auction, has now secured a place in the India U-19 cricket team. He is set to represent India in the Asia Cup 2024, with the team facing Pakistan in its opening match today at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan batted first, posting 181 runs for the loss of two wickets in 35 overs.
Suryavanshi’s journey to fame has been meteoric. In a recent two-day auction held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Rajasthan Royals acquired him for ₹1.10 crore, making him the youngest player in IPL history and the youngest millionaire cricketer. Known for his explosive batting, Suryavanshi grabbed attention with his remarkable performances in U-19 Tests, where he scored a rapid century. One of his standout moments came in October during a match against Australia U-19 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, where he struck a blistering hundred in just 58 balls, earning him widespread recognition.
