Pawan Kalyan Advocates for Literary Tourism Development in Andhra Pradesh

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed his vision for the growth of literary tourism in Andhra Pradesh, alongside the promotion of spiritual, adventure, and historical tourism. This initiative was discussed during a meeting with representatives from the Vijayawada Book Fair Committee at his camp office in Mangalagiri on Sunday.

The committee members shared the challenges they face in organizing the annual Vijayawada Book Fair, a popular event that has been successfully held for the past 35 years. One of the key concerns raised was the difficulty in securing a suitable venue for the event. In response, Pawan Kalyan assured them that the issue would be addressed promptly.

Pawan Kalyan emphasized the importance of promoting literary tours that celebrate the rich legacy of prominent Telugu poets and writers. He suggested that the state government could organize tours that highlight the literary contributions of figures such as Sri Sri, Gurajada Apparao, Chalam, Gurram Jashuva, Viswanatha Satyanarayana, Tilak, and Devulapalli Krishna Sastri. The government is considering initiatives to preserve their birthplaces and establish memorial centers dedicated to their work.

Additionally, the Deputy Chief Minister proposed the development of tourism circuits connecting key literary sites across the state. These would include locations like the Vetapalem Library, Rajamahendravaram’s Gowthami Library, and Kadapa’s C.P. Brown Library. He highlighted that these efforts would not only enhance the recognition of Telugu literature but also contribute to the overall growth of the state’s tourism industry.

The meeting was attended by T. Manohar Naidu, K. Lakshmaiah, Golla Narayana Rao, and Sandeepani, members of the Vijayawada Book Fair Committee, who all expressed support for Pawan Kalyan’s vision to promote literary tourism in Andhra Pradesh.
