India Avoids Follow-On as Jadeja, Rahul Fight Back on Day 4 of Third Test
India finished Day 4 of the third Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Brisbane’s Gabba Stadium with a score of 252/9 in their first innings, avoiding the follow-on but still trailing Australia by 193 runs. Resuming the day at 51/4, India managed to add 201 runs despite frequent rain interruptions.
KL Rahul (84) and Ravindra Jadeja (77) were the mainstays of the Indian innings, putting up a resilient partnership that helped them stave off the follow-on threat. At the close of play, Jasprit Bumrah (10*) and Akash Deep (27*) were unbeaten, adding 39 runs for the final wicket, with Deep impressing in particular with a quick-fire 31-ball knock that included two fours and a six.
