Telangana Government Approves Land Allocation for 100-Foot NTR Statue and Knowledge Center
The Telangana government has agreed to allocate land near the Outer Ring Road in Hyderabad for the construction of a monumental 100-foot statue of the late Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder and legendary actor, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR). In addition, the government has approved plans for the establishment of the NTR Knowledge Center at the same location, marking a significant tribute to the iconic leader’s legacy.
The development came after a meeting between the NTR Literature Committee, led by Chairman and former MLC T.D. Janardhan, NTR’s son Nandamuri Mohanakrishna, and committee member Madhusudhana Raju with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Janardhan briefed the Chief Minister on the committee’s activities and their vision for the statue and Knowledge Center, which aims to serve as both a cultural and educational hub.
The NTR Knowledge Center will further elevate the location as a key tourist destination, providing a space dedicated to preserving and sharing NTR’s contributions to both cinema and politics. During the meeting, Janardhan and Mohanakrishna requested the Chief Minister’s support for land allocation, and Revanth Reddy, recognizing NTR’s lasting impact on the Telugu people, assured full cooperation from the Telangana government.
In response, Janardhan expressed his gratitude for the Chief Minister’s positive feedback, highlighting the excitement and anticipation surrounding the project among NTR’s admirers. This gesture from the Telangana government is expected to be a fitting tribute to one of the most influential figures in Telugu cinema and politics.
