MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy Criticizes Police Action and Allu Arjun’s Remarks on Sandhya Theatre Incident

MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has accused the police of providing detailed explanations, supported by visuals, as to why a case was filed against actor Allu Arjun in connection with the recent stampede at Sandhya Theatre. Speaking to the media, Chamala emphasized that the police had classified the incident as the result of negligence and irresponsibility.

Chamala also pointed out that the Telugu film industry had thrived under Congress leadership, highlighting the pivotal role played by the party in the industry’s growth. He referred to Allu Arjun’s release from jail, where the actor had vowed to abide by the law as a responsible citizen. Chamala criticized the lack of accountability for the incident, as no specific individuals were held responsible.

In response to inquiries from Majlis party members, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy provided clarifications in the assembly regarding the incident. Chamala remarked that the Chief Minister was attempting to present the facts and provide clarity to the public.

The MP further clarified that while the theatre management had submitted an application for permission for Allu Arjun’s visit, it was incorrect to state that the police had granted the approval. Chamala reminded the media that Allu Arjun had addressed the public on the same day the Chief Minister spoke in the assembly, expressing regret over the unfortunate death of Revathi and the hospitalization of her son.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, in his address, emphasized that if such incidents were to occur again, there would be no permissions or concessions granted for future benefit shows. He stated that strict measures would be enforced to avoid public inconvenience.

Chamala also criticized Allu Arjun’s public statements on the incident, accusing the actor of reading from a pre-written script. He suggested that if Allu Arjun truly intended to prevent such incidents in the future, he would have transitioned from being a “reel star” to a “real star” by taking concrete steps.

The MP reaffirmed Congress’s commitment to the welfare of all individuals, from producers to workers in the film industry. Chamala commended Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for his efforts to clarify the situation and suggested that assigning the Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC) Chairman post to someone outside the industry would not resolve the issues. He praised the appointment of Dil Raju, a prominent figure in the industry, as a positive move for addressing the concerns.

Chamala also recalled the historical context of the Congress government’s support for the film industry, including the allocation of land in Film Nagar during the tenure of the Anjaih government. He mentioned that significant studios like Padmalaya and Ramanaidu Studios were granted land at that time, underscoring the Congress party’s continuous efforts for the welfare of everyone in the industry.
