Telangana Government Announces Increased Financial Aid for Farmers under Rythu Bharosa Scheme
In a major development for farmers, the Telangana government has announced significant updates to the Rythu Bharosa scheme on the occasion of Sankranti. Starting from January 26, the scheme will provide enhanced financial assistance to farmers, with the amount increased to ₹12,000 per acre. This move is expected to give a substantial boost to agricultural investment in the state.
According to the new guidelines issued by the government, only agricultural lands that are registered as cultivable on the Dharani portal will be eligible for the financial aid under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. Lands deemed unsuitable for cultivation will be excluded from the scheme. Additionally, the government has clarified that pattadars under the Forest Rights Act (RoFR) will also be eligible to receive the assistance.
The disbursement of funds will be carried out through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, ensuring that the financial aid is directly credited to the farmers’ bank accounts for a smooth and transparent process.
The implementation of the scheme will be overseen by the Director of Agriculture, with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) serving as the IT partner for the program. District collectors will be responsible for overseeing the execution of the scheme at the district level and for addressing any related complaints or concerns.
This increased support under Rythu Bharosa is expected to provide much-needed financial relief to farmers and further strengthen the agricultural sector in Telangana.
