Pawan Kalyan Extends Heartfelt Sankranti Greetings, Emphasizes Village Prosperity

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan extended his warm Sankranti greetings to the people of Telugu states, highlighting the cultural significance of the festival, which encompasses Bhogi, Sankranti, and Kanuma. Through a heartfelt message shared on social media, Pawan Kalyan reflected on the traditional practices that make Sankranti a vibrant celebration for families and communities.
In his message, Pawan Kalyan described Sankranti as a festival that is rich in cultural elements, from rangavallulu (decorative patterns) to gobbemmalu (decorative cow dung arrangements), and from gangireddu (decorated oxen) to Haridasulu (traditional singers). He also emphasized the importance of Bhogi bonfires and the wide array of traditional dishes that are an integral part of the celebrations. “Witnessing people flocking to villages in search of such festive joy is a testament to the special place this festival holds in their hearts,” he remarked, underscoring the deep emotional and cultural connection people have with Sankranti.
Concerns Over Rural Depopulation
Pawan Kalyan also expressed concern over the growing depopulation of rural areas, largely attributed to migration for employment opportunities in cities. He noted that the influx of families and children into villages during Sankranti brings a sense of rejuvenation and joy. Reflecting on the importance of rural life, he said, “The prosperity of villages is the prosperity of the nation.” He called for efforts to ensure that villages continue to thrive with prosperity, joy, and abundance, benefiting not only the local communities but the entire country.
A Call for Collective Prosperity
The Deputy Chief Minister concluded his message by reiterating his wishes for a joyful and prosperous Sankranti for all Telugu families. His words resonated with a vision for a better future, where both urban and rural communities prosper together, and the traditional values and customs of the Telugu people continue to flourish.
With his Sankranti greetings, Pawan Kalyan not only celebrated the festive spirit but also drew attention to the need for a balanced and inclusive development approach that uplifts rural areas and preserves their cultural heritage. His message reinforced the importance of community, family, and tradition in the ever-changing landscape of the Telugu-speaking states.
