Nara Lokesh Gifts Traditional Mangalagiri Saree to Wife Brahmani for Sankranti
Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh celebrated the Sankranti festival by presenting his wife, Brahmani, with a special gift — a traditional Mangalagiri handloom saree. He shared this heartfelt gesture with his followers on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), praising the artistry of Mangalagiri weavers and highlighting the importance of supporting the region’s handloom industry.
In his tweet, Lokesh expressed his admiration for the exceptional craftsmanship of Mangalagiri textiles. “It was an honor to gift a special Mangalagiri saree to Brahmani this Sankranti. The beauty and craftsmanship of our Mangalagiri handloom textiles are truly unparalleled. Let us continue to stand by our talented handloom weavers, who keep this rich heritage alive,” he wrote.
Brahmani, deeply touched by the thoughtful gift, responded with gratitude. “Thank you, Lokesh. This Mangalagiri saree is truly wonderful. The tradition and craftsmanship are remarkable. It is a privilege to wear the work of our skilled weavers. Wishing everyone a joyous and prosperous Sankranti,” she replied, appreciating the cultural significance of the saree.
The gesture not only highlighted the significance of traditional handloom textiles but also underscored the couple’s support for local artisans and their commitment to preserving Andhra Pradesh’s rich cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, as part of Sankranti traditions, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his family marked the festival by celebrating it in their native village, Naravaripalle, continuing their annual family custom.
