TDP Leader Tikkareddy Opposes Granting Positions to Recent YSRCP Defectors

Kurnool: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President of the Kurnool Parliamentary Constituency, Tikkareddy, has voiced strong opposition to granting party positions to individuals who have recently defected from the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). Addressing the media in Kurnool on Saturday, Tikkareddy emphasized the sacrifices made by long-standing TDP members who have faced arrests, participated in protests, and endured significant financial losses in support of the party. He made it clear that awarding positions to newcomers from YSRCP would not be tolerated and would undermine the efforts of loyal TDP workers.

Tikkareddy further accused YSRCP leader and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of having inflicted injustices on TDP workers during his tenure. He argued that offering key positions to individuals who have crossed over from YSRCP would be a disservice to those who have remained steadfast in their loyalty to TDP over the years.

Additionally, Tikkareddy raised concerns about certain individuals allegedly exploiting the party’s grassroots workers for personal gain. He claimed that some people were misusing the names of TDP MLAs and party in-charges to extort bribes, particularly in exchange for issuing dealership licenses. Tikkareddy revealed that demands for bribes had reached up to ₹5 lakh and condemned these unethical practices as damaging to the party’s credibility.

In response to these issues, Tikkareddy announced his intention to bring the matter to the attention of the Chief Minister, urging that action be taken against those engaging in corruption and illegal activities. He emphasized the need to prioritize justice for loyal TDP workers and ensure accountability within the party to maintain its integrity and public trust.
