Vijaya Sai Reddy Resigns from Rajya Sabha, Steps Away from Politics
Vijaya Sai Reddy, a senior leader of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), officially submitted his resignation from the Rajya Sabha on Saturday. The resignation was presented to Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar in the prescribed format, following his earlier announcement on social media platform X that he would be stepping away from politics.
Reddy, who had served as a Rajya Sabha member since 2016, was re-nominated by YSRCP leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for another term in 2022. His second term was scheduled to continue until 2028. However, he has decided to resign three years ahead of the term’s completion.
This move has sparked considerable discussion within political circles, as Reddy had been an influential figure in the party. His decision to step down comes as a surprise to many, raising questions about his future political plans.
