TDP to Hold Mahanadu in Kadapa; Key Resolutions Passed at Politburo Meeting
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has confirmed that this year’s prestigious Mahanadu event will be held in Kadapa district, marking an important political occasion for the party. The decision was made during a recent Politburo meeting, which was chaired by TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Following the meeting, senior party leader and Minister for Agriculture K. Atchannaidu addressed the media, outlining key resolutions passed during the discussions.
Atchannaidu revealed that the Mahanadu event would span three days, with resolutions being passed on May 27 and 28, culminating in a grand public meeting on May 29. A significant highlight of the event will be the re-election of Chandrababu Naidu as the national president of the party.
The Politburo meeting also saw the passage of several important resolutions, including the decision to establish a special tribunal aimed at taking action against individuals involved in offenses during the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government. In line with this, the TDP has decided to take steps to nullify illegal cases filed by the YSRCP government, within a designated timeframe.
In response to concerns regarding the AgriGold scam, Atchannaidu shared that the government is considering compensating the victims by offering land as an alternative to the pending payments. This move is expected to provide relief to those affected by the ongoing crisis.
The meeting also addressed the issue of the 10% reservation quota for Backward Classes (BCs) in local bodies, which had been reduced during the previous regime. Atchannaidu stated that the government is exploring legal avenues to restore this quota to its previous level. Furthermore, the TDP aims to fulfill three additional promises from its Super Six election pledges by June, demonstrating its commitment to governance.
In terms of welfare initiatives, the meeting discussed the release of funds for the “Talliki Vandanam” scheme, which is set to be implemented in the upcoming academic year. Additionally, a provision of ₹20,000 will be allocated to fishermen during the fishing ban period to provide financial support.
Atchannaidu concluded by reaffirming the government’s dedication to fulfilling all election promises, underscoring the party’s commitment to the welfare of the people of Andhra Pradesh. The resolutions passed at the meeting reflect the TDP’s focus on governance, accountability, and fulfilling the aspirations of its supporters.
