Trump Addresses Allegations of Elon Musk’s Influence in Government
U.S. President Donald Trump has responded to recent allegations surrounding Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s involvement in government affairs. Speculation had arisen that Musk, who is leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOE) within Trump’s administration, was wielding significant influence over government decisions, particularly due to his active presence on social media.
In his response, Trump sought to clarify Musk’s role, stating, “Musk cannot take independent decisions regarding government affairs.” The President reassured the media that Musk’s actions and decisions are subject to approval and oversight, emphasizing that Musk, while holding a position in the administration, does not have autonomous authority.
The White House further clarified that Musk’s role is that of a government employee working directly for the President. Despite having an office within the White House and a government email address, Musk does not receive financial compensation for his duties.
Musk’s relationship with the Trump administration has been under scrutiny for some time, given his significant contributions to Trump’s election campaign, including both financial support and active participation. Despite the controversy, Trump’s remarks appear to place clear limits on Musk’s influence within the government.
