Sharwanand to Star in ‘Johnny’: Pawan Kalyan’s Iconic Title Revisited
Sharwanand, fresh off borrowing the iconic title Nari Nari Naduma Murari, is reportedly gearing up for another significant project with the title Johnny. Directed by Abhilash Reddy and produced by UV Creations, Johnny is currently under production. This film draws inspiration from the 2003 iconic movie Johnny, which starred Pawan Kalyan in the lead role.
Johnny, upon its initial release, was a commercial failure but has since earned a cult following over the years, becoming an iconic piece of Telugu cinema. The upcoming film featuring Sharwanand is set against the high-octane backdrop of bike racing, offering a fresh take on the original title while keeping the spirit of the 2003 film.
However, before fully dedicating his focus to Johnny, Sharwanand is prioritizing the completion of his ongoing project, NNNM (Nari Nari Naduma Murari), which is currently in progress.
This isn’t the first time an actor has repurposed an iconic Pawan Kalyan film title. Vijay Deverakonda previously used Kushi, Varun Tej borrowed Toli Prema, and Nithiin took Thammudu. Additionally, anchor Pradeep used Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi for his project.
The trend of repurposing Pawan Kalyan’s iconic titles has left some of his fans feeling uneasy, particularly as they worry that these beloved titles may be taken before Pawan Kalyan’s son, Akira Nandan, makes his debut in the industry.
