Sake Sailajanath Criticizes Pawan Kalyan’s Religious Tours, Calls for Accountability in Governance
Senior leader Sake Sailajanath, who recently joined the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), has criticized Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for his ongoing religious tours across South India. Pawan Kalyan, accompanied by his son Akira, has been visiting various temples in Kerala and Tamil Nadu as part of his spiritual journey.
During a press conference in Anantapur on Wednesday, Sailajanath accused the Deputy Chief Minister of using religious visits as a way to avoid his duties in governance. He pointed out that Pawan Kalyan should focus on addressing the state’s law and order issues, rather than evading responsibility through religious tourism. Sailajanath further emphasized that it would be better for the Deputy CM to minimize discussions about the state’s law and order situation if he is not taking active steps to address it.
Sailajanath’s comments come after a previous incident in which the police department took action against fake social media posts only after Pawan Kalyan made serious remarks about the issue. Following his statements, cases were filed, and arrests were made for spreading misinformation online.
Sailajanath’s call for Pawan Kalyan to take greater accountability in managing the state’s law and order situation has ignited a fresh political debate. The comments have sparked public discussion about the roles and responsibilities of elected officials, particularly in the context of governance versus personal or religious pursuits. This ongoing discourse is likely to continue as political tensions rise in the state.
