YS Jagan to Enter Andhra Pradesh Assembly Through Gate No. 4 Amid Budget Session
The Andhra Pradesh Assembly budget session is set to commence tomorrow, where the budget for the 2025-26 financial year will be presented. YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with other party MLAs, will attend the session. However, due to Jagan’s current status as a regular MLA and not the Leader of the Opposition, he will be entering the Assembly as a regular member rather than in an official capacity.
Assembly protocol mandates that individuals enter through designated gates based on their positions. The Governor, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Speaker, and Deputy Speaker are required to use Gate No. 1. Ministers enter through Gate No. 2, while MLAs and MLCs are expected to use Gate No. 4.
Given that Jagan no longer holds the title of Leader of the Opposition, he will be expected to enter through Gate No. 4, in line with the usual procedure for MLAs. This development has sparked widespread discussion, with some speculating whether the Speaker might exercise discretion and allow Jagan to enter through Gate No. 1 instead, given his prominent political role. The matter has attracted attention as the budget session approaches.
