Actress Sri Reddy Receives Conditional Relief from High Court in Defamation Cases
Actress Sri Reddy has been granted conditional anticipatory bail by the High Court in a case related to derogatory remarks made against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and other prominent political figures. The case stemmed from objectionable content posted by Sri Reddy on social media, leading to multiple legal cases being filed against her in various police stations across the state.
Sri Reddy had petitioned for anticipatory bail, and after a hearing, the High Court granted her relief in a case filed in Visakhapatnam. The court directed her to appear before the investigating officer once a week as part of the conditional anticipatory bail.
However, in a separate case filed by the Chittoor police, the court dismissed her anticipatory bail petition, stating it was not eligible for consideration at this time. Further legal proceedings are expected in the cases filed in Kurnool, Krishna, and Vizianagaram districts, with the court instructing the police to issue notices and seek explanations from Sri Reddy regarding her alleged posts.
In the case from Anakapalli, Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) Sai Rohith presented arguments highlighting the objectionable language used in Sri Reddy’s social media posts. Justice K. Srinivasa Reddy postponed the hearing for a week, continuing the legal process related to the issue.
This development provides temporary relief to Sri Reddy as the court proceedings continue, ensuring she faces the necessary legal procedures while under scrutiny for her social media activity.
