Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani Join Global ‘Super Billionaires’ List
Indian business tycoons Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani have reached a remarkable milestone, securing spots on the exclusive list of 24 global “super billionaires,” each possessing a net worth surpassing $500 billion (₹4.35 lakh crore).
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, continues to dominate the list with a staggering net worth of $419 billion (₹36.45 lakh crore), maintaining his position as the world’s wealthiest individual. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos follows in second place with a net worth of $263.8 billion.
Ambani, with a net worth of $90.6 billion (₹7.88 lakh crore), ranks 17th, while Adani, with $60.6 billion (₹5.27 lakh crore), holds the 22nd position. These rankings underline the growing prominence of Indian entrepreneurs on the global economic stage.
Musk’s earnings, which amount to approximately $2 million (₹17.4 crore) per hour, have propelled speculation that he may become the world’s first trillionaire by 2027. His wealth is already 20 million times greater than the average American’s net worth.
As of early February, the 24 super billionaires collectively control a significant 16% of global billionaire wealth, a substantial rise from just 4% in 2014. Their combined wealth is valued at $33 trillion—equivalent to the GDP of France. Of these super billionaires, 16 have attained the elite “centibillionaire” status, each boasting a net worth exceeding $100 billion.
Ambani and Adani’s inclusion in this prestigious list underscores their growing influence and reinforces India’s prominent role in the global economic landscape.
