Chandrababu Naidu Announces Plans for Top-Tier Universities in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu recently unveiled ambitious plans for the state’s educational landscape, announcing that the state would soon welcome top-tier universities and institutions. Speaking at a workshop on Population Dynamics and Development at SRM University on Tuesday, Naidu emphasized the importance of education and laid the foundation stone for ₹700 crore worth of infrastructure projects at the university.
The Chief Minister highlighted the state’s progress despite challenges faced over the past five years. Reflecting on the state’s vision, he mentioned that had the construction of Amaravati continued uninterrupted, the region’s landscape and circumstances would have been significantly different. He assured the public that the construction of central and state government offices in Amaravati would soon commence.
Focus on Education and Economic Development
As part of his address, Naidu spoke about the state’s long-term vision, emphasizing that Andhra Pradesh is working towards Vision 2047. He expressed his commitment to transforming the state into a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047, with a focus on boosting per capita income to ₹58 lakh. To achieve this, the government is pursuing a 15% annual growth rate, with public-private partnerships playing a crucial role in employment and income generation.
He disclosed that ₹40,000 crore is already being spent on the development of Amaravati, with further investments of ₹1 lakh crore expected in the near future. Naidu firmly believes that the state’s development will contribute significantly to India’s economic growth in the coming years.
Emphasizing Smart Work and Empowerment
Chandrababu Naidu also touched on the importance of smart work over hard work. He encouraged women and youth to embrace modern work opportunities, including work-from-home roles. His efforts to create an empowering environment for women were evident, as he expressed his confidence that women can outperform men in the workforce.
Further emphasizing empowerment, Naidu announced plans to create 50,000 educational opportunities at SRM University. He offered additional land and resources if the university committed to providing this educational boost. The Chief Minister also urged SRM to help 10,000 families through educational and employment support.
Long-Term Vision for Education
Naidu expressed his unwavering commitment to bringing premier educational institutions to Andhra Pradesh. He pledged to create an environment conducive to learning and innovation, ensuring the state’s development through education. His future-focused approach was demonstrated by his announcement of the P4 initiative, which aims to foster wealth distribution and eradicate poverty, with an official launch planned for Ugadi.
