R.K. Roja Slams Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan Over Silence on Tirumala Issues
YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former minister R.K. Roja launched a blistering attack on Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, accusing him of remaining silent on alleged transgressions and irregularities at Tirumala, particularly in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Gosala.
Roja questioned Pawan Kalyan’s moral standing, stating that his silence on these matters was in stark contrast to his frequent public affirmations of Sanatana Dharma. “If positions and packages are given to you and your brother, is that enough? Will you never speak again?” she asked, implying that political incentives had muted his voice on key issues of public and spiritual concern.
Central to Roja’s criticism was the reported death of over a hundred cows at the TTD Gosala. She highlighted the sacred role of cows in Sanatana Dharma and demanded accountability from those responsible. “No one should mess with God,” Roja declared, asserting that anyone involved in mismanagement at the Gosala should face legal consequences, regardless of their status or political alignment.
She also came down heavily on the administration for allegedly targeting Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, the Tirupati MLA, who first raised concerns about the condition of the Gosala. Instead of investigating the claims and punishing those at fault, Roja alleged that authorities were attempting to intimidate Reddy by filing cases against him.
In a show of protest, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, accompanied by supporters, attempted to visit the Gosala to expose the situation. However, the police restricted the visit, allowing only security personnel to accompany him and barring public entry. Defying these conditions, Reddy tried to leave his residence with a large group of followers but was stopped by law enforcement. He, along with a YSRCP Member of Parliament, staged a protest by lying down on the road—a demonstration later joined by R.K. Roja.
“If you said only Bhumana should go to the Gosala, he would go. If you said all of us should go, we would still go,” Roja said at the protest site, emphasizing the public’s right to transparency in matters concerning the sacred temple town. She also took a veiled jab at TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, suggesting that they, too, were beginning to understand the consequences of acting against the divine authority of Lord Venkateswara.
Roja concluded her remarks by accusing Pawan Kalyan of complicity in the actions of the ruling coalition and called upon him to “clean the steps of the Seven Hills” as an act of repentance for his silence.
As tensions continue to rise over the issue, public and political attention remains fixed on the developments surrounding the Gosala and the broader administration of Tirumala.
