Prakash Raj Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack: “Our Blood is Boiling”
Veteran Indian actor Prakash Raj has issued a heartfelt and powerful condemnation of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of innocent tourists. Taking to social media platform X, the actor expressed his anguish, calling the assault not just an attack on individuals, but on the spirit and soul of Kashmir itself.
“The atrocity has made my blood boil,” Prakash Raj wrote, describing the horror of the incident in which visitors—who had come seeking peace and beauty in the Valley—were brutally gunned down. At least 26 lives were lost in what has been described as one of the worst terror attacks in the region in recent times.
“This incident has shattered the heart of every Kashmiri. Words fail me,” Raj posted, emphasizing that the attack was a direct affront to the centuries-old traditions of Kashmiri warmth and hospitality. He painted the tragedy not only as a humanitarian disaster but as a betrayal of the Valley’s values.
The acclaimed actor did not hold back in his condemnation of the perpetrators, calling the attack “a horrifying, cowardly act.” He further said, “We are ashamed of this brutality, and our blood is boiling. Every time something like this happens, we are forced to bear the burden of disgrace. This cannot be forgiven.”
Prakash Raj went on to appeal directly to the people of Kashmir, urging them to break their silence and take a strong stand against terrorism. “This was not done by true Kashmiris. Our parents did not raise murderers. There is no justification for such actions—only shame,” he wrote, underlining the emotional and cultural dissonance created by such violence.
Expressing sorrow over the destruction caused to innocent families, the actor questioned the motives behind such brutality. “They have destroyed families, orphaned children. I don’t know what their motives were, but I know that this is not who we are,” he said.
In a poignant closing, Prakash Raj extended his condolences to the victims and their families. “You came to Kashmir seeking peace, but we failed to protect you. For that, we ask for your forgiveness.”
