Actress Imanvi Denounces Fake Reports Linking Her to Pakistan, Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack
In the wake of the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which claimed 26 innocent lives, tensions between India and Pakistan have once again come to the forefront. The incident has sent shockwaves across the nation, prompting widespread condemnation from political leaders, citizens, and members of the Indian film industry.
Among those impacted by the public discourse is Imanvi, the lead actress in the upcoming film starring Prabhas and directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. Imanvi became the center of an online controversy after unfounded rumors began circulating, alleging that she is the daughter of a Pakistani military officer. The speculation quickly went viral, with a section of netizens demanding her removal from the film.
In response, Imanvi took to social media to strongly refute the allegations and issue a heartfelt statement condemning both the terror attack and the spread of misinformation.
“First and foremost, I want to express my most sincere and heartfelt condolences for the tragic event that took place in Pahalgam. My heart goes out to all those who lost their lives and their loved ones,” she wrote.
The actress emphasized that the reports linking her to the Pakistani military were entirely false and had been deliberately circulated to incite division and hate.
“Nobody in my family has ever been or is currently associated with the Pakistani military in any way. These falsehoods have been fabricated by online trolls. What is especially disappointing is that legitimate news outlets and social media users failed to verify these claims before repeating them.”
Clarifying her identity, Imanvi shared details about her background:
“I am a proud Indian American who speaks Hindi, Telugu, Gujarati, and English. I was born in Los Angeles, California, after my parents immigrated to the United States. I pursued a career in the arts and am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to Indian cinema.”
Her response also included a broader call for unity and the role of art as a healing force:
“As someone whose mission has always been to spread light and love through art, I hope to use this medium to build bridges, not walls. Let us use this time of mourning to uplift one another and ensure that art continues to be a force for empathy and connection.”
The online attacks against Imanvi come amid rising public anger over the involvement of The Resistance Front (TRF)—a Pakistan-backed terrorist group—in the Pahalgam massacre. As emotions run high, there has been increasing scrutiny of cross-border collaborations in Indian cinema.
Despite the uproar, many from the film fraternity and the public have come out in support of Imanvi, praising her composure, patriotism, and her dignified response to unfounded allegations.
As the situation unfolds, Imanvi’s statement stands as a reminder of the importance of verifying information, especially during times of national tragedy, and the responsibility of the public and media to act with integrity and empathy.
