The attack, carried out by The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy group of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has drawn widespread international condemnation. The Pahalgam attack has significantly heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. In response, India has downgraded diplomatic relations with Pakistan, suspended participation in the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty, and imposed new travel restrictions.
