India Conducts Precision Strikes on Terror Targets in Pakistan in Response to Pahalgam Attack
In a decisive military response to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, including one Nepali national, the Indian Army has executed ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting and destroying nine high-value terrorist sites located deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
According to official sources, the highly coordinated strikes were carried out with precision and restraint, ensuring zero collateral damage to civilian or Pakistani military infrastructure. The targets were reportedly linked to terrorist outfits held responsible for the April 22 massacre in Jammu & Kashmir.
A Focused and Calibrated Response
The Indian government confirmed the success of all nine targeted strikes. The action, described as focused, measured, and non-escalatory, aimed to send a strong message while avoiding wider conflict in the region.
An Indian Army spokesperson stated, “Our actions have been focused and precise. We have only targeted terrorist camps from where attacks against India have been planned and executed. Justice is served.”
The operation is viewed as part of India’s broader counterterrorism doctrine, which emphasizes accountability for cross-border terrorism without provoking full-scale escalation.
PM Modi Monitored Operation in Real-Time
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was briefed in real-time throughout the course of the operation. Top sources confirmed that the Prime Minister remained in close contact with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and senior military commanders, reflecting the mission’s strategic significance.
His direct oversight underlined the Indian government’s commitment to responding swiftly and decisively to terror threats while maintaining diplomatic and military balance.
A Message of Deterrence
Operation Sindoor is being seen as a carefully calibrated show of strength, intended to deter future cross-border terrorism and uphold India’s national security posture. The strikes followed weeks of intelligence gathering, surveillance, and strategic planning, officials said.
India’s response also underscores its evolving approach to counterterrorism—targeted, proportionate, and politically resolute—especially in light of repeated provocations and attacks originating from across the border.
No Civilian Casualties Reported
The government emphasized that all efforts were made to avoid civilian casualties. According to military sources, only pre-designated terrorist infrastructure was targeted, including launchpads, training camps, and logistics hubs.
No damage was inflicted on economic or civilian assets in Pakistan, reinforcing India’s stated objective of hitting only non-state actors behind the Pahalgam tragedy.
