In a heartfelt gesture that goes beyond politics, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Pithapuram MLA Pawan Kalyan has announced that he will donate his entire legislative salary to support orphaned children in his constituency.
In a public statement, the actor-turned-politician said his decision stems from the deep trust the people of Pithapuram have placed in him. “I consider this position a sacred responsibility, not a privilege,” Pawan Kalyan remarked. “The people gave me this mandate, and it’s only right that the benefits of it go back to those who need it most.”
True to his words, Pawan Kalyan on Friday disbursed financial aid directly from his salary to 42 orphaned children in Pithapuram. Each child will receive ₹5,000 per month, totaling ₹2.1 lakh — a recurring contribution that he promises to maintain throughout his tenure.
The announcement was made during an event at his camp office in Mangalagiri, where he personally handed the support to 32 children present at the venue. For the remaining ten, he ensured that the district administration would deliver the aid promptly to their homes.
What sets this act apart is not just the monetary help, but the commitment to continuity. Pawan Kalyan has instructed his team to ensure monthly home delivery of the support — affirming that it’s not a one-time gesture, but a sustained mission.
“This is not charity — this is my duty as a representative of the people,” he added. “Every rupee I earn through this position will be spent on the future of these children.” The move has sparked widespread admiration, with many hailing it as a rare example of purpose-driven politics — where service isn’t spoken, but shown.
