Hyderabad, India, has become the epicenter of global beauty and cultural celebration as it hosts the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant. The grand opening ceremony took place on May 10 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, marking the commencement of a month-long series of events culminating in the grand finale on May 31 at the HITEX Exhibition Centre .
The inauguration was graced by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Miss World Chairperson Julia Morley, and reigning Miss World Krystyna Pyszková. The event showcased Telangana’s rich cultural heritage, featuring a mesmerizing Perini dance performance by 250 artists and a rendition of the state anthem “Jayajayahe Telangana” .
Over 110 contestants from around the world participated in the opening ceremony, donning traditional attire that reflected the diverse cultures they represent. India’s representative, Nandini Gupta from Kota, Rajasthan, captivated the audience as she proudly hoisted the national flag, symbolizing the nation’s hopes in the competition .
The Miss World 2025 schedule includes various events aimed at promoting cultural exchange and unity. One highlight is the Heritage Walk on May 13, where contestants will explore Hyderabad’s historic Charminar and Laad Bazaar, experiencing the city’s rich history firsthand .
This edition of Miss World not only celebrates beauty and talent but also emphasizes global harmony and cultural appreciation, reinforcing Hyderabad’s status as a hub for international events and cultural diplomacy.
