Mumbai: Maharashtra Cyber Cell Summons Actor Tamannaah Bhatia Over Alleged Promotion of IPL Streaming on Fairplay App
The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has summoned actor Tamannaah Bhatia for questioning regarding the alleged promotion of the viewing of Indian Premier League (IPL) matches on the Fairplay betting app, a subsidiary of the Mahadev online gaming and betting application.
Bhatia is scheduled to appear before the Maharashtra Cyber personnel on April 29th, as confirmed by a senior police official. The actor has been called to provide her statement as a witness in the case.
The investigation stems from complaints that certain IPL matches were illegally streamed on the Fairplay app in 2023. The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has previously recorded statements from singer Badshah and the managers of actors Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez in connection with the case.
The Mahadev app is currently under scrutiny by various investigative agencies for alleged involvement in illegal transactions and betting activities.
Tamannaah Bhatia is widely recognized for her roles in films such as “Baahubali” and the Netflix anthology “Lust Stories 2”.
