YSRCP Leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi Hospitalized After Health Scare in Police Custody
Former Gannavaram MLA and senior YSR Congress Party leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi has been hospitalized following a serious deterioration in health while in police custody. He is currently receiving medical attention at the government hospital in Kankipadu, Krishna district.
Vamsi, who had pre-existing respiratory conditions, was taken into custody by Kankipadu police in connection with an investigation into the alleged distribution of fake housing title deeds. While in custody, his health reportedly worsened, prompting authorities to rush him to the hospital.
His wife, Pankaja Sri, arrived at the hospital shortly after receiving the news. Senior YSRCP leader and former minister Perni Nani also visited the facility and consulted with the attending medical staff about Vamsi’s condition. He expressed grave concern and emphasized the need for immediate, high-quality treatment.
“Vamsi’s condition is critical, and he must be moved to a better-equipped hospital like AIIMS for advanced care,” said Perni Nani, addressing the media outside the hospital.
Family members echoed the demand, urging the authorities to act swiftly in transferring Vamsi to a facility with comprehensive care, citing the potential risk posed by his existing health issues.
The incident has raised questions about detainee health protocols and is likely to draw further scrutiny as political tensions rise ahead of upcoming elections.
