The official schedule for the Women’s Asia Cup Hockey Tournament 2025 has been announced, with the prestigious continental event set to take place from September 5 to 15 in Hangzhou, China. A total of eight teams will compete over ten days, all vying not only for the Asia Cup title but also for a direct berth to the 2026 FIH Women’s World Cup.
India, placed in Pool B, will open their campaign against Thailand on September 5, followed by a high-stakes encounter against defending champions Japan on September 6, and a final pool match against Singapore on September 8, Hockey India confirmed on Wednesday. Pool A comprises hosts China, South Korea, Malaysia, and Chinese Taipei, while Pool B features India, Japan, Singapore, and Thailand.
The Indian team, which clinched bronze in the previous edition, is entering this year’s tournament with renewed determination. Having last lifted the Asia Cup trophy in 2017, India is targeting nothing short of gold this time.
“The match against Japan will be a real test, but early challenges like these will only help us raise our game,” said India captain Salima Tete. “Our focus is on disciplined, consistent performance.
