Actress Kalpika Ganesh Faces Fresh Cybercrime Allegations Amid Ongoing Legal Troubles
Actress Kalpika Ganesh, already embroiled in the ongoing Prism Pub case, is once again under legal scrutiny—this time for alleged cyber harassment. A new case has been registered against her by the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police following a complaint filed by a young woman named Keerthana, who accused the actress of abusing and harassing her online.
According to Keerthana’s complaint, Kalpika allegedly used obscene language and sent offensive messages through Instagram. She further claimed that Kalpika publicly posted objectionable content about her via Instagram statuses and direct messages, causing mental distress and defamation.
To support her allegations, the complainant submitted a series of screenshots to the police, which were accepted as preliminary evidence. Following a review of the material, the police have officially registered a case under:
- Section 67 of the IT Act (2000–2008) – pertaining to the publishing or transmission of obscene material in electronic form
- Sections 354 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) – related to outraging the modesty of a woman and criminal intimidation
The investigation is currently underway, and authorities are said to be examining Kalpika’s social media activity as part of the probe.
This fresh controversy comes hot on the heels of Kalpika’s involvement in the Prism Club incident, where she was also named in a legal complaint. With back-to-back allegations piling up, there’s growing speculation in Tollywood circles about the potential impact on her acting career.
While Kalpika is yet to issue a public statement regarding the new allegations, the situation is drawing significant attention online, with both supporters and critics voicing their opinions on social media.
