PM Modi, Union Ministers Extend Birthday Wishes to Rahul Gandhi as IYC Hosts Mega Job Fair
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended warm birthday greetings to Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, who turned 55.
Taking to social media platform X, the Prime Minister wrote,
“Birthday greetings to the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Shri Rahul Gandhi. May he be blessed with a long and healthy life.”
Born on June 19, 1970, at Delhi’s Holy Family Hospital, Rahul Gandhi is the eldest child of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi. He represents the Rae Bareli constituency in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha.
Several Union Ministers also joined in to wish the Congress leader.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh posted:
“Greetings to the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Shri Rahul Gandhi on his birthday. May he be blessed with good health and a long life.”
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari shared:
“Extending my heartfelt birthday wishes to the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha and Lok Sabha MP from Rae Bareli, Shri Rahul Gandhi ji. May this occasion bring joy, and the year ahead be filled with health and prosperity.”
Rahul Gandhi, whose political legacy traces back to India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, is the grandson of Indira Gandhi and son of Rajiv Gandhi, both former Prime Ministers. His paternal grandfather, Feroze Gandhi, was a prominent political figure from Gujarat and belonged to the Parsi community.
To mark the occasion, the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) is hosting a mega job fair at New Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium, aimed at connecting youth with employment opportunities. The event features over 100 participating companies and multinational corporations, offering more than 5,000 job openings across various sectors. The IYC said the initiative reflects Rahul Gandhi’s consistent emphasis on addressing youth unemployment and providing platforms for meaningful careers.
