Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan participated in the grand ‘Yogandhra’ event held on the scenic coastline of Visakhapatnam on the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day, calling it a proud global recognition of India’s ancient wisdom.
Speaking at the event, Pawan Kalyan said, “International Yoga Day is a matter of immense pride for every Indian. It reflects the global acknowledgment of yoga, a gift from our land to the world.”
He highlighted India’s historical contribution to yoga, citing ancient scriptures like the Rigveda, which emphasized the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of the practice centuries ago. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for elevating yoga to the global stage through sustained diplomatic efforts, leading to its widespread recognition.
The Deputy CM said that the ‘Yogandhra’ programme aims to set a world record, thanks to the large-scale public participation and coordination. “With the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi and the commitment of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, I am confident we will achieve this milestone,” he added.
The beachfront event witnessed lakhs of participants performing yoga asanas in unison, showcasing the growing public enthusiasm for wellness and mindfulness. Kalyan urged people of all ages to integrate yoga into their daily routines, stressing its holistic benefits for physical and mental well-being.
The celebrations in Visakhapatnam stood as a testament to Andhra Pradesh’s strong commitment to health, tradition, and community engagement.
